Trade Ideas - Review

I have a reader who asked me about trade ideas. I started using their service around June 2005. I think anyone can use their trading knowledge to build their own filters. You can try to apply strategies that you are already using in your trading. Trade ideas has examples of many different strategies in their blog.

I use trade ideas in my trading everyday. You can build an unlimited number of filters. I have around 7 or 8 filters up in one 17 inch monitor. All these filters can weed out great stocks each day. If I have so many great picks each day then why am I not making bank? The filters are a tool. A trader also needs to have discipline and experience to make it work.

I have been trading for 5 years. It took close to a year before I became profitable. I find that I am improving gradually each year. My method of choice is scalping. My edge lies in tape reading NYSE stocks and staying on the side of the specialist. That is the method I learned when I started. As I build up my capital I will try new styles and trade new markets. In late 2006 my trading hit a rough patch after the introduction of the NYSE Hybrid system. For most of 2007, I have been on a search for new strategies that would help me adapt to the market.
