Need work on the short side

I am a bit more confident in going long v.s. short. I like to enter with market orders and go with momentum on my trade. While shorting I always seem to get in late and the stock would reverse on me because I need to wait for an uptick to get filled. I would try to offer at higher prices but determining the right spot to place an offer is also a bit tricky. Today I gained some insights after watching Dinosaur Trader and Miss Trade play the short side. They played it quite well.

I find it painful to short NYSE stocks. Short Nasdaq stocks, no uptick needed, way easier.

Nice to have that kind of help with trading!

About Me

I have been trading for 5 years. It took close to a year before I became profitable. I find that I am improving gradually each year. My method of choice is scalping. My edge lies in tape reading NYSE stocks and staying on the side of the specialist. That is the method I learned when I started. As I build up my capital I will try new styles and trade new markets. In late 2006 my trading hit a rough patch after the introduction of the NYSE Hybrid system. For most of 2007, I have been on a search for new strategies that would help me adapt to the market.
