Daily Summary

15400 shares
+523

I made the bulk of my money CNS and JNS. Both stocks reported earnings and had nice opening range breakouts. I think it was good that I stayed away from the agricultural stocks. POT had great earnings and the whole fertilizer sector had a big gap up. Most of the stocks just had a tight range so if I had traded it I might have lost money. A lot of stocks are reporting earnings so I think there are much easier plays out there during the next two weeks.

I started trading in a firm that traded in NYSE stocks. I have been trading NYSE for a long time. I want to try Nasdaq, but I know I'll have to go through a learning curve before I can get to know how they trade.

I look for stocks that trade at least 200k shares a day with good daily ranges of over $1. When you find a list of stocks that fit that criteria, you narrow them down by looking at the charts(5 min, 1 min, 15 min) and see if they are choppy or smooth. Pick the smooth ones that you feel you can trade.

OBAT,

I've been in that CNS lately too. Decent mover, but thin as hell.

About Me

I have been trading for 5 years. It took close to a year before I became profitable. I find that I am improving gradually each year. My method of choice is scalping. My edge lies in tape reading NYSE stocks and staying on the side of the specialist. That is the method I learned when I started. As I build up my capital I will try new styles and trade new markets. In late 2006 my trading hit a rough patch after the introduction of the NYSE Hybrid system. For most of 2007, I have been on a search for new strategies that would help me adapt to the market.
